Overview
If you’re looking for a “home from home” childcare setting in Crewe then look no further!
The ABC House is classed as “childcare on domestic premises”. A team of 5 experienced carers (all of which are trained in first aid) look after babies, toddlers, and pre-school aged children. It is our aim to create a friendly, safe, homely and welcoming environment for you and your child.
It is of such vital importance that when a family decides to leave one or more of their children with a childminder or nursery, that they feel safe and secure in the knowledge that it is the best thing for their child and that their child feels safe, secure, stimulated and above all happy. It is our mission at ABC to create an environment that mirrors the needs of families and their children and to truly take care of your child in a way that you would in your own home.
What we offer at The House and Play Space
We provide a happy, nurturing, stimulating environment. Our beautiful home from home setting is classed as childcare on domestic premises. We are not technically a childminder or Nursery but a setting that combines the benefits of both. Babies and children aged up to 4 are cared for.
Benefits include smaller numbers of children, a homely and nurturing environment, family oriented childcare and family pets to help care for. Our children under 2 are cared for in the House and the over 2’s enjoy the freedom of our purpose built Play Space.
Our service is unique and personal with lots of social interaction, communication and physical development being emphasised through the activities we offer. Your child will experience homely accessories, wooden toys, cosy corners, heuristic resources and treasure baskets, baking and yoga sessions during their time with us. We value the importance of outdoor play and fresh air. We have access to a farmhouse garden to grow food and plants.
The children love to watch pumpkins, sunflowers and potatoes grow and to make mud pies! We also have yoga sessions for the children to enjoy. We enjoy being part of the local community by visiting the library and local parks. The children have previously enjoyed visits to the local care homes which both the residents and children have thoroughly enjoyed.
At ABC we work very hard to ensure there is a balance between activity and rest. We aim to work with you to meet your child’s individual needs. This means that there is flexibility with our ‘typical’ daily routines. Children are encouraged to voice their individual ideas and play with activities of their own choice. Our house and play space are wonderful places to make this happen, and the whole team really enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that each day brings and the beautiful things that your children say and do whilst they are with us.
Government funding access
We have access to Government funding which means that from the first school term after your child turns 9 months, or celebrates their 2nd or 3rd birthday, they can attend for 15 or 30 hours a week FREE. Please call for more information. Extra sessions for children can also be booked outside of your free entitlement. We usually have three intakes a year – i.e. January, Easter and September. If we have spaces available, we would love to welcome your child earlier.

Our Learning
Following the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), we’ve developed a unique learning programme, designed by our very own ABC Teachers. Children learn through play so the programme has been carefully created with fun and stimulating activities you won’t find anywhere else.
We believe that for the best start in Early Years Education, all staff working in our settings should understand not just how, but why, we teach the way we do.
This ensures that all activities have been planned in detail to develop your child’s skills in different ways.
Every child’s progress will be carefully tracked in our “learning journals”, they are a lasting memory of all the adventures of your child’s time at ABC.
We produce regular newsletters to keep you updated with everything the children are learning. Parent’s evenings are held every term too.
